Description
The Chelsea 489ZHDAX-A5XD or 489ZHDAXA5XD is a 489 Series Power Take-Off assembly designed for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt PTO mounting aperture, including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm), with shaft power ratings of 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The output shaft is a 1-1/4″ round type with key, and shift is wire/cable mechanical. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability.
