Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XHITX-V3XK or 489XHITXV3XK, is an 8-bolt PTO assembly designed for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Output is through a 1-1/4″ round shaft with key. The 489 Series uses tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Wire/cable mechanical shift is the shift method for this unit. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm), with shaft power rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1000 RPM. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
