Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XHAHX-A3XQ or 489XHAHXA3XQ, mounts directly to an 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the need for an adapter plate, reducing potential leak paths and installation time. Output is delivered through a 1-1/4″ round shaft with key. Wire/cable mechanical shift is standard on this configuration, with an electric-over-air shift option also available within the 489 Series. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm). Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1000 RPM. The Chelsea 489 Series fits a wide range of vocational applications including utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles. Twenty-seven output options are available across the 489 Series, including a 360-degree rotatable flange with greaseable shaft to reduce pump shaft spline fretting and corrosion. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Eleven internal speed ratios and shift options are offered within the series.
