Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off 489XFAHX-H3XQ or 489XFAHXH3XQ mounts directly to an 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions, including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec, without requiring an adapter plate. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates a common leak path that adapter-plate designs introduce. Shift type is wire/cable mechanical. The 1-1/4″ round output shaft (with key) is driven through strong tapered bearings rather than needle bearings, giving the unit the same intermittent torque capacity as the 442 Series. Output power reaches 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Internal parts share commonality with the 442 Series, simplifying bench service. Call Pro Gear and Transmission to confirm this configuration fits your exact transmission and hydraulic setup.

Additional Information
The Chelsea 489 Series fits a wide range of vocational applications including utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles. The integral 8-bolt housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, removing the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Tapered bearings replace the needle bearings found in some competing designs, providing greater load-bearing capability under demanding duty cycles. Twenty-seven output options are available across the 489 Series, including Chelsea’s 360-degree rotatable flange with greaseable shaft. Eleven internal speed ratios and shift configurations make this a flexible platform for varied hydraulic and mechanical PTO-driven equipment.
