An EGR Cooler Gasket Kit, Distribution Center Kit is a set of seals and gaskets used when installing or servicing the EGR cooler on a diesel engine.

  • Prevent exhaust leaks — keeps hot exhaust gases contained within the EGR system.
  • Prevent coolant leaks — the EGR cooler uses engine coolant to reduce exhaust-gas temperature.
  • Maintain proper EGR flow — good seals prevent unwanted air/exhaust leaks that can affect EGR operation.
  • Protect the engine — prevents coolant or exhaust from entering areas where it shouldn’t.
  • Replace worn/damaged seals during EGR cooler service — gaskets are typically replaced when the cooler or related components are removed.

Signs of Faulty

  • Coolant loss with no obvious external coolant leak
  • White smoke or steam from the exhaust, especially after startup, if coolant is getting into the exhaust/intake
  • Exhaust smell or visible soot around the EGR cooler connections
  • Coolant leaking externally around the EGR cooler
  • Check Engine light and EGR-related fault codes
  • Poor engine performance or reduced power
  • Rough running or hard starting
  • Higher coolant temperature/overheating in more severe cases
  • Hissing or unusual exhaust noise from the EGR area if exhaust gas is escaping
  • Low coolant level that repeatedly returns after being topped off
