Description
The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off (PTO), part number 281GMFJW-E8RF or 281GMFJWE8RF, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift unit built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly found on Allison transmissions. The 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series, carrying several structural upgrades: a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an 80% thicker steel disc clutch pack to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges, and the Wet Spline Lubrication option delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life.
