Description
Chelsea part 281GDFJW-B3RK or 281GDFJWB3RK is a 281 Series Power Take-Off assembly, hydraulically shifted (PowerShift) and designed for continuous-duty operation on automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly Allison applications. The 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series, featuring a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to reduce vibration and improve clamp load, and an enhanced clutch pack with 80% thicker steel discs for resistance against premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios span both low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce pump clearance conflicts, and the Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life 7 to 10 times over standard configurations. Additional Information
Common markets for the 281 Series include fire and rescue apparatus, truck cranes, pumper cleaners, and refuse vehicles. The 281 Series is supported by Parker Chelsea documentation including the 281/288 Series Parts List (HY25-2281-M1/US) and the 267/281/288/871/878 Series Owner’s Manual. Rotatable cast-iron output flanges allow adjustment to clear pump installations without repositioning the entire unit. The Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage that can result from coupling contact.
