Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XHAHP-A3RB or 489XHAHPA3RB, mounts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the need for an adapter plate, reducing both installation time and potential leak paths. Wire/cable mechanical shift is standard, with an electric-over-air shift option also available. Output shaft is a 1-1/4″ round type with key. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft; continuous torque should be de-rated 30% per application data. Shaft power output is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Tapered bearings replace the needle bearings used in earlier designs for greater load-bearing capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
