Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XFAHX-S5XQ or 489XFAHXS5XQ, mounts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec gearboxes. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate, reducing both installation time and potential leak paths. This unit delivers the same intermittent torque capacity as the 442 Series, with shaft power rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The 1-1/4″ round output shaft with key accepts a wide range of pump configurations. Tapered bearings handle higher radial loads than needle-bearing designs. Wire/cable mechanical shift is standard on this configuration. Call us to confirm proper fit for your application.

Additional Information
The Chelsea 489 Series is suited for aerial, vocational, municipal, and other mobile equipment applications including utility trucks, dump trucks and trailers, snow and ice removal vehicles, and fire and rescue apparatus. Eleven internal speed ratios and shift options are available across the 489 Series, along with 27 output configurations including a 360-degree rotatable flange with greaseable shaft to reduce pump shaft spline fretting and corrosion. The kit-style PTO design simplifies field service, and internal parts are shared with the Chelsea 442 Series for parts commonality.
