Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XFITX-P5RA or 489XFITXP5RA, is engineered for 8-bolt transmission openings on most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and others. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. This unit uses a wire/cable mechanical shift with pressure lube (P designation) and delivers a 1-1/4″ round output shaft. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm); shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The 489 Series uses strong tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability, and its internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
