Description
The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XXAHX-A6XK or 489XXAHXA6XK, mounts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions, including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec units, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. The one-piece cast iron housing delivers the same intermittent torque capacity as the 442 Series: 250 lb-ft (339 Nm). Output is a 1-1/4″ round shaft with key, and shift is wire/cable mechanical. Shaft power output is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series, making bench service straightforward. Additional Information
The Chelsea 489 Series is engineered for vocational and municipal applications including utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles. The series offers twenty-seven output options, including a 360-degree rotatable flange with greaseable shaft to reduce pump shaft spline fretting and corrosion. Eleven internal speed ratios and multiple shift configurations make the 489 a versatile platform across a wide range of mobile equipment installations. Kit-style construction allows individual internal components to be replaced without full unit removal, and internal parts are interchangeable with the Chelsea 442 Series.
