Description
The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 281GDFJW-B8RZ or 281GDFJWB8RZ, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison transmissions. It delivers nine speed ratios covering low and high speeds, with a single continuous duty torque rating across the range. The series features a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an enhanced clutch pack with steel discs 80% thicker than the previous generation. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce pump interference, and a positive stop on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling contact. The wet spline lubrication option extends shaft life 7 to 10 times compared to standard configurations.
