Description
The Chelsea 281GDFJP-B3RF or 281GDFJPB3RF is a 281 Series hydraulically shifted hot-shift Power Take-Off designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. It delivers nine speed ratios covering both low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces vibration effects. The clutch pack uses steel discs that are 80% thicker than those in the predecessor 280 Series, resisting premature tooth wear. A Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times. Rotatable cast-iron flanges improve pump clearance, and SmartStart reduces shock load at engagement for qualifying applications. Call us to confirm proper fit for your transmission and application.

Additional Information
The Chelsea 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series PTO, designed for demanding continuous-duty markets including fire and rescue, refuse, pumper cleaner, and truck crane applications. The Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) option protects driven equipment from overspeed damage. A hose is included with this assembly. Rotatable cast-iron output flanges reduce interference concerns with pump mounting. The Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling contact. Parker Chelsea documents covering this series include the 281/288 Series Parts List (HY25-2281-M1/US) and the 267/281/288/871/878 Series Owner’s Manual.
