Description
The Chelsea 282 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 282XKAJX-B3XD or 282XKAJXB3XD, is a medium-duty hot-shift PTO built on Chelsea’s redesigned 282 Series platform. The 282 Series uses an 8-bolt mounting configuration and supports both pneumatic and hydraulic (PowerShift) shift options. Intermittent torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm), covering the demands of aerial, construction, towing and recovery, water truck, and fuel oil delivery applications. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options, with direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations available. The Chelsea 282 Series was developed as a redesign of the 238 Series medium-duty hot-shift PTO, incorporating upgraded moving parts rated for up to 300 lb-ft of continuous or intermittent torque. Direct-mount outputs are available with optional Wet-Spline technology to extend PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include a positive stop to help prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes. The Smart Start option supports high-torque start-up conditions. Typical market applications for the 282 Series include aerial lifts, construction equipment, towing and recovery, water trucks, and home fuel oil delivery trucks.
